A Pebble ePaper watch for iPhone and Android has hit Kickstarter. To be worn around the wrist, it connects wirelessly to the device in question and alerts wearers to incoming calls, messages and more.
The smartwatch features an ePaper 144 x 168p display that can be viewed conveniently in outdoor settings. It happens to use Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR to cordlessly load apps. This offering also includes 4 buttons along with a vibrating motor and a 3-axis accelerometer. Moreover, there’s a Pebble watchapp store for distributing applications.
To get started, a corresponding app developed for use with the peripheral needs to be downloaded on the phone. This gives room for plenty of customization options, in terms of watchfaces to gel with the user’s clothes and mood and what not.
While the wearable serves as a watch in the true sense by displaying the time of the day, its highlight is the fact that it can provide access to Facebook, emails or texts too. What’s more, it features an incoming caller ID as well as a timer and a silent vibrating alarm.
