Towards the end of May we mentioned that a new webOS update will soon be available. Well, it seems like the wait is over for webOS users. Palm steers up with the recent release of webOS 1.4.5 version. No new applications are added, though the company does reveal efforts have been made to modify existing applications and fix minor problems.

It promises to resolve a handful of negligible flaws and enhancements to uphold the public release of the webOS PDK. If a user enters a text in a field on specific websites, the screen now focuses on the text being entered. Therefore this update ensures accurate text entry on a particular web page text field.

Further it also helps to untangle blunders while downloading podcasts. The company, it appears has paid attention to enhancing its utility. The upgrade further stipulates to solve various security issues specifically with the Palm webOS software.

This update will be available over-the-air for Sprint’s Palm Pre handset for SFR.
