Not too long ago, we reported that Chillingo would be introducing a line-up of nine varied titles for iOS users. Chillingo and Machineworks Northwest have now announced the availability of Painkiller Purgatory and its HD version on the iTunes App Store.
Powered by Machineworks’ Ripp3D Engine, this title belongs to the first-person shooter horror genre. It calls for players to defeat hordes of enemies through Purgatory armed with deadly weapons such as visceral spinning blades, Gatling guns and more. The game also includes various dangerous bosses raring to steal the protagonist’s soul.
Users will have to combat a terrifying world of foes and blow up the demons into bits to ultimately bring down Lucifer. Completion of numerous challenges will lead to unlocking of corresponding achievements. It integrates an interesting Crystal social platform where players from around the world can post their scores to compete with friends. Painkiller Purgatory is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch devices, while its HD build works on the iPad.
