Opera surpasses 100 million mark, 50 million mobile users

Opera Logo The Opera browser seems to have captured attention of more than 100 million users globally. Out of these, about 50 million are said to be desktop users while the other 50 million are mobile users.

The yearly growth of the Opera browser on desktops now is estimated to be over 30 percent, measured from March 2009 to March 2010. The number of desktop users was calculated in March 2010, resulting in an unprecedented 50 million unique active users. Moreover, a lot of users operate Opera for web browsing on their gaming consoles, connected TVs and set-top boxes.

This feat was achieved by Opera succeeding the launch of the Opera 10.5x generation. Opera can now officially bask in the glory of being the fastest web browser in the world. The Opera browser for the desktop is also slated as the fastest browser in the market. The desktop version makes for a cost efficient browser with features like Opera Turbo.

The Opera Turbo helps users browse faster in congested networks and is said to offer cheaper data roaming as well. The Opera Unite feature makes it easy to share and access data and offers novel ways of browsing the web. With Opera Link, users can link bookmarks with several devices like the Opera Mini browser. Moreover, Opera is a unified, easy-to-use interface with a smooth transition between desktops and mobiles.
