The Google mobile blog has declared the launch of the updated OnTheFly airfare shopping mobile app for the iPhone and Android smartphones. OnTheFly version 1.2 lets users browse through 35 days of potential departure dates on a calendar and features an interactive temperature graph.
Letting users customize their mobile shopping experience, the app enables them to save and access search history. The application also keeps track of any modifications in prices for the itineraries so that users know the best time to plan their trip.
Employing a seemingly intuitive and ergonomic interface, the app provides users information about the exact airfare calculation, including all taxes and fees to quickly find available flights with optimal fares. The upgraded app, said to be a boon for frequent air travelers, allows users to compare their options across airlines, dates and alternate cities or airports.
Developed by ITA software, this application features an intuitive travel date selector by which users can specify single or multiple departure and arrival dates in a single calendar interaction. They are even allowed to detail the amount and type of passengers, number of permitted stops and cabin classes. Another interesting feature is the flexible airport selection that allows selection of many airports at the same time.
The OnTheFly airfare shopping mobile app version 1.2 can now be downloaded for free from the Android Market and the App Store.
