ODOC iPhone and iPod dock seek backers

ODOC iPhone iPod Dock 01

The elegantly designed ODOC iPhone and iPod dock will see the light of day if supporters of the product pledge $70,000 before the due date in June. The device has been put up on Kickstarter and was falling short of $40,000, when we last checked.

It seems like the ODOC gadget has been designed to perfectly compliment the Apple smartphone and comes drenched in three different shades. The glossy variant will be made available in white as well as clear over aluminum, while another model will flaunt a matte black finish. The cylindrical form factor is fitted with an elastomeric o-ring that can be rotated to acquire one of the five viewing angles to view or use the iPhone.

The dock’s weight holds it down and facilitates removing the Apple device using a single hand. Also, it directly establishes a connection with the smartphone, sans a special 30-pin connector. Besides a USB port, this product comes with an audio connector to allow playing music through the iPod or the iPhone.

Users are not required to remove the phone’s case in order to place it into the cradle. The backrests that are packaged along with the dock and can be stored in the cylinder itself, need to be adjusted to accommodate the iPhone with its cover.

The ODOC iPhone and iPod dock will enter mass production if an amount of $70,000 is pledged before June 9 on Kickstarter.
