The Nokia Lumia 720 release date has been slated for sometime in April in the UK through O2. Though the carrier has not put up any price or plan details, it was earlier announced that the device will be carrying a label that reads £299.99, for the unlocked version. This would translate to roughly around €350.
The handset is a part of the budget-friendly series that was launched at the MWC last month. The folks at Unwired View have inferred that the availability date for the SIM-free version should be on April 1, keeping in line with details that were disclosed last month. The Windows 8 smartphone is apparently the slimmest of the maker’s handsets, with a thickness of just 9mm.
Photography buffs should find a lot of reasons to be glad about, as the 6.7MP main camera comes with an f1.9 aperture and also drags in a gamut of features which include Cinemagraph, Smart Shoot, Erase and Glam Me. A 1.3MP lens has been affixed on the front panel, along with a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen. The handset has been designed to weigh just 128 grams.
Diving into the intricate details, the phone has a 1GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor that gets the pace going. In terms of memory capacity, 8GB of space has been allocated to users and the device is also granted with 512MB of RAM. Consumers will be able to derive around 13.4 hours of 3G talktime or 520 hours of standby time, owing to the 2000mAh battery.
O2 will be offering the Nokia Lumia 720 in hues of black and red with the latter variant being exclusive to the network provider. Prospective buyers can register on the carrier’s website to receive more information and updates. A precise date for the unveiling in the US has still not been disclosed as yet.
