NYCE extends ATM Network with text message balance inquiries

NYCE Logo and Mobile Phone NYCE has announced its new service that allows balance inquiries via text messages. This service is available to the financial institution participants as a standard feature of full participation in the NYCE network.

Powered by Monitise Americas, the new service lets users request and receive real time balance information on their primary accounts through text messages. This basic text message transaction is an extension of the balance enquiry functionality which is available at NYCE Network ATMs.

“Text message balance inquiries further extend the reach of our nationwide ATM network directly into the pockets of the country’s mobile phone users,” states Steve Rathgaber, NYCE president and chief operating officer. “With mobile financial services quickly becoming mainstream, NYCE believes that consumers will soon expect the ability to access their demand deposit accounts using their mobile phones — in much the same way they expect that access through an ATM today. As a network provider, we deliver better customer satisfaction for our financial institution clients by making sure they can easily adapt to the ways consumers want to access their accounts.”

The text message balance inquiry service is available virtually for all the mobile phones regardless of their service provider or the type of phone. The NYCE’s mobile services are packaged with the network’s infrastructure, leveraging existing NYCE services such as settlement and reporting.

You can take complete advantage of text messages for balance inquiries without any additional fees.
