Nuance Communications, recently made its Dragon Mobile SDK available to developers for use in iOS and Android applications, through a new self-service website. This exercise is a part of the Nuance Mobile Developer Program to facilitate app development. Mobile application developers can apparently rake up the advantages offered by Dragon Dictation 2.0, Dragon Search apps and Nuance’s Vocalizer text-to-speech (TTS).

For speech search and dictation capabilities, the Dragon Mobile SDK supports UK and US English, German, Italian, Japanese, European French and European Spanish languages. Plans for including many more languages in the coming months are underway. What’s more, TTS functionalty exists for over 35 languages.

“The mobile application explosion is in flight with Apple nearing 10 billion downloads and Android apps expanding rapidly,” commented Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile. “We’ve created an amazingly simple way for developers to innovate privately and securely on the two fastest growing platforms in the world.”

Through this self-service tool the Nuance Mobile Developer Program provides many developers with quick access to pre-packaged easy-to-integrate apps. It also enables developers to enhance their applications with speech input and text-to-speech output capabilities. Additionally, this bundle also offers more helpful resources needed during the entire development process.

The Nuance Mobile Developer Program provides Dragon Mobile SDK for the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch supporting Apple iOS 4.0 and Android 2.1 and higher devices.
