Back in the month of October, LG had launched the LG Optimus 7 operating on then freshly released Windows Phone 7. The handset manufacturer had incorporated its very own Voice-to-Text functionality. Wondering why we are specifically emphasizing on this very feature? Well, it’s because Nuance Communications enunciated that the Dragon Dictation software which backs the LG Voice-to-Text application is now available in the Marketplace.

“Consumers worldwide are continuing to demand voice as a primary interface for their mobile devices. It’s simply the most natural and intuitive way to engage the applications and services we use most,” asserted Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile. “And because our voice capabilities are completely flexible and customizable, we can enable developers to create unique applications for any platform on any device, including the new innovative Windows Phone 7.”

This software is simple to use and assists users in quickly penning down emails, text messages, Twitter and Facebook status updates, memos, and much more, by simply verbalizing the text. The company claims that its voice technology is at the base of LG’s Voice-to-Text app. The application supports several languages like U.S. English and Spanish, French, Italian, UK English, German, and European Spanish.

The Nuance Dragon Dictation application can be downloaded from the Microsoft Windows Phone Marketplace for free. AT&T LG Optimus 7 users can access it in U.S. English and U.S. Spanish, whereas those in Europe can use other languages like UK English, French, Italian, German and European Spanish.
