Tweaked Nexus S runs at 1.2GHz speeds

Samsung Google Nexus S

Just yesterday, we had reported about over ten million Samsung Galaxy S phones being sold by the company. Well, it’s just not the forerunner of this series that has been making news for all the right reasons. The Nexus S from Samsung is the most recent and popular addition to the lineup. Operating on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread, it flaunts a 4-inch chic Super AMOLED Contour Display.

According to xda developers, the Nexus S can now be calibrated to clock at 1.2GHz, although all this is done unofficially. As a statutory warning, modifying the handset will leave the manufacturer’s warranty null and void.

However, this seems to disable the Bluetooth settings as the folks over at the site claim to be working on it. Guess being on the safer side will be a better idea as the 1GHz Samsung application processor is pretty fast and efficient on its own. All the same, the ball eventually lies in the user’s court.
