The Nokia Weather Widget has finally been made available for handsets operating on the Nokia Belle OS. The news follows close on the heels of the company’s announcement regarding the gradual rollout of this software update for various handsets running the earlier version of Symbian.

The new software has been divided into two parts – Weather forecast and Weather now. As the name suggests, the former keeps customers informed about the probable climatic conditions that are expected over the next few days. Through this, users might be able to better plan their outdoor schedule.

On the other hand, Weather now offers real time data about the climate in users’ current location by tracing it through GPS. To enable checking of present day weather conditions in another region, a setting has been provided at the bottom of the app page.

A recent post on the official Nokia Conversations blog reads, “When it comes to the weather, it’s something we’re all interested in, especially if you are British. It decides what we wear for the day and it’s also a great way to start a conversation. If you’ve got a Nokia Belle smartphone, the Nokia Weather Widget is now available, via the Nokia Beta Labs.”

The software can be easily added to the homescreen of any compatible Belle smartphone. All handset owners have to do is simply long-press on an empty screen space, where they wish to place the application and select it through the ‘add widgets’ option. Also, the app offers a full-fledged look at the weather forecast for up to next five days via direct access to the Nokia Weather service.

The Nokia Weather Widget for Nokia Belle can now be downloaded free of cost through Nokia Beta Labs. It can be paired with devices like the Nokia 500, C6-01, E7, N8, C7, Oro, X7-00 and T-Mobile Astound.
