Nokia sells Mobile TV Broadcast Solution to Wipro Technologies

Wipro Technologies Logo While Nokia is looking forward to focus on consumer software solutions, the company sells its enterprise mobile TV unit to Wipro Technologies. Mobile TV and on-demand video are getting popular among mobile phone users as they provide a host of entertaining features.

The Mobile Broadcast Solutions unit had employed 40 professionals for developing the software and hardware. Thus, enabling the Mobile TV technology to locate and access data from a broadcasting network.

The Nokia Mobile Broadcasting Solution provides a commercial mobile TV service which utilizes the current TV content with less impact to the existing products. Moreover, the company also offers training, integration, maintenance, implementation and support for commercial mobile TV services to consumers.

According to the analysts, the deal between the two companies would not be that interesting as various network operators are looking forward to offer 3G services. While Nokia is a Finland based multinational communications corporation, Wipro is an Indian-based IT company which mainly operates in the areas of information technology, lighting, healthcare, engineering and consumer care.

Both the companies have not revealed the value and terms of the deal as yet.
