T-Mobile has unveiled its latest messaging device called the Sidekick LX. This device comes with a host of new features that will surely garner the attention of people who are into heavy texting.

The new Sidekick LX boasts of an iconic swivel design and offers enhanced video capabilities and GPS-enabled Live search. The company claims that this device features a sharper screen and thinner profile than its previous models.

The device takes complete advantage of T-Mobile’s 3G network which offers faster web browsing speed. With the “Communities” section, it offers one click access to popular sites like Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. It also packs in AOL messenger, Windows Live and Yahoo! messenger.

With GPS-enabled Live Search, users can easily map their current location or search for the nearest coffee shop, restaurant, etc. Users can even share their favorite spots with friends through Sidekick’s messaging ability and one can also check for real time traffic information, gas prices or movie showtimes.

“Our Sidekick customers are going to be blown away by the new features this device is offering, which is why it’s so exciting to give them the exclusive opportunity to get it before anyone else,” adds Denny Marie Post, chief marketing officer, T-Mobile USA, Inc. “Today’s Sidekick customers are avid communicators, with three out of four accessing social networking sites on their device at least once per week. The real-time notifications, tied with 3G speeds and GPS, will provide customers with the best experience of any Sidekick before, and we expect it will exceed their expectations.”

Combining a perfect blend of enhanced web capabilities and functions, the Sidekick LX device incorporates a music player that streams audio and RTSP video. Users can also watch YouTube videos on the web browser or on MySpace. This device sports a 3.2 inch F-WVGA screen with 854 x 480 resolution and a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. Besides, the device also includes energetic mood lights that run horizontally on the top of the screen alerting users of an incoming message.

Additionally, the Sidekick LX bundles up various other features such as intuitive user interface with Quick Find, Bluetooth, network address book, support for email, 1GB microSD memory card and 1250mAh Lithium powered battery which provides a talktime of upto 3 hours and a standby time of upto 6 days on 3G, whereas on 2G it offers 5.5 hours of talktime and 8 days of standby time. It will be available in two colors, orchid and carbon.

The Sidekick LX device is available on pre-sale at www.sidekick.com for $199.99 with a two year agreement and from May 13 it will be available at select T-Mobile retail stores.
