Nokia Remade Concept Phone goes Green

Nokia Remade While the environmentalists are contemplating about the damage done by pollution, here’s a new age concept mobile phone from Nokia which is environment friendly and made from recycled materials.

The phone was announced back in February, and looked like a standard mobile phone. However a new version is now being shown at the wireless trade show CTIA, and surely looks different!

Nokia’s ‘Remade’ concept phone’s outer shell is made from materials like aluminum cans, plastic from drink bottles and old car tires. With the global warming fear and the pollutants harming the eco-system, technology steps forward and brings in this new mobile phone in a recycled form. Even the screen of this slim clamshell phone is made of recycled glass and the hinges are made of old rubber tyres.

The phone’s insides are made from old refurbished parts from older phones. The energy saving feature tops it all with the phone reducing the backlight to an optimal level, thus saving on battery, and requiring less frequent charging. The price or the launch plans of ‘Remade’ have not yet been disclosed by Nokia. Although a concept as of now, it would be pleasant to see more of these green phones in the market.
