Nokia Lumia 825 may be the company’s first 5-inch device with quad core CPU

The Nokia Lumia 825 may soon be out in the open, proving everyone who thought that the 920 was the Lumia 820’s successor, wrong. It looks like now that Nokia has begun crafting bigger smartphones, there’s no stopping the Finnish manufacturer. Yes, the handset in question is not only larger than the 625, but it has also apparently breached the 5-inch benchmark.

At 5.2-inch, the Nokia Lumia 825 will be the company’s biggest phone, coughing up visuals at a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Another major aspect which attracts attention is the purported quad core processor which the device is said to accommodate under the hood. Claiming to have found the news through a Chinese smartphone forum named dospy, the folks from Unwired View have said that the CPU will be the Snapdragon 400 chipset from the Qualcomm family and it will run at a clock speed of 1.2GHz.

If proven true, the estimation of Windows Phone 8 GDR3 forming a part of the handset’s ecosystem could have something to do with quad core processor’s inclusion. In addition to this, there may also be Miracast mirroring, NFC and Bluetooth, while rumors also indicate dual SIM support.

The Lumia 825 is rumored to debut sometime in the month of October. But then again, that also depends on Microsoft’s decision to release GDR3, delaying which could also push the gadget’s launch to next year. The manufacturer seems to be starting a whole new generation of mid-range smartphones with the 925 and 625 already officially revealed. Any takers for the Lumia 725 and 1025?
