Nokia crafting a 6-inch phablet?

It looks like Nokia has begun feeling that bigger might just be better, with manufacturers such as Sony and Samsung flaunting their monstrous smartphones. It so happens that an image of a certain handset’s front panel which holds the Nokia branding on its forehead has leaked through ICtech and the screen of this device apparently stretches as much as 6 inches.

Now, not much can be deciphered from merely a snapshot, but that hasn’t stopped the folks over at Phone Arena from making a few predictions of their own. The report has stated there’s quite the chance that the touch panel will be able to spew visuals at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

It doesn’t really come as a surprise, but the 6-inch gadget’s front bears a round space meant for a front-facing camera. Also, black will be one of the hues in which the smartphone will be drenched and judging by the Finnish manufacturer’s reputation, there will be many more. The handset shows off a box-ish frame, but its edges are slightly blunter than those of the Lumia 920.

The smartphone will most definitely be destined to rock at least Windows Phone 8 out of the box. And let’s not rule out the possibility of it packing the WP GDR3 update, just yet. The aforementioned post has also forecasted that the phone will be stepping out from behind the curtains towards the end of this year.

That’s all for now in terms of the purported 6-inch phablet, although we believe this is only the beginning of rumors and leaks. So watch this space for more.
