Nokia bags the title of India’s most trusted brand

Nokia Logo Nokia unveiled loads of innovative mobile phones into worldwide markets over the past few years. Recently, the C6-01 was spotted complete with Symbian^3 homescreen while the company made merry in the Vodafone UK store as it unleashed the Nokia N8 in that part of the world. Now according to The Economic Times-Brand Equity’s annual survey, Nokia has acquired the acme position in the ‘Most Trusted Brands’ list for this year in India.

“Nokia has always been a consumer-centric company and a consumer award for ‘trust’ is the pinnacle of all awards. This award is a testament to our team’s deep focus and determined efforts to better understand the needs of the evolving Indian consumer and connect with them. Our initiatives for India – ranging from ‘made in India, made for India’ handsets, services such as Nokia Life Tools and extensive retail and care networks – are a proof of the fact that we are continuously striving to make a positive impact on the lives of our consumers,” stated D. Shivakumar, Managing Director, Nokia India.

As claimed, Nokia has been voted as the country’s most trusted brand for the third time in a row. They have bagged the first spot in 2008, 2009 and 2010. The mere fact of its acme position in this survey indicates that Nokia has indeed made an impact on the mobile terrain in India over the past years.

According to the company, the country has been the quickest growing telecom markets with an estimated current mobile subscriber base which amounts to an excess of 670 million subscribers. The premier mobile phone call was carried out on a Nokia handset through the Nokia network on July 31, 1995.
