Nokia and Telecom Italia collaborate for Nokia Messaging

Nokia Telecom Italia Logos Nokia and Telecom Italia have recently agreed to come in partnership for bringing Nokia Messaging, an easy-to-use and convenient messaging service. The Telecom Italia customers are expected to be filled with exhilaration with this soon to be released service. From mid September, Telecom Italia customers will be able to operate the Nokia Messaging push email service. Users will also be allowed to subscribe to offers particularly designed to send and receive email from their mobile phones at low-cost.

With the new offering MAXXI Mail, the TIM users will be offered 1GB of storage per month for checking their email for nearly € 4 a month including VAT. Customers with a contract and who select the top-up option will be availed to this facility. Besides, the Telecom Italia has several plans for business customers at the same time.

“This agreement contributes to the evolution of the mobile phone that will increasingly be a tool to access one’s ecosystem of private, family and professional content. TIM believes in this evolution and wants to experience it alongside its customers,” stated Oscar Cicchetti, Head of Domestic Market in Telecom Italia.

“With this service, Nokia and Telecom Italia join forces to drive mobile messaging adoption for their customers using Nokia solutions and Telecom Italia special data plans. We are glad to satisfy the growing consumer demand to access email accounts directly from the device whenever they want, wherever they are. The objective is to bring mobile email to everyone and make it easily accessible to the largest number of users possible,” explained Alessandro Mondini Branzi, General Manager, Nokia Italia.

The collaboration attempts to bring an easier email functioning whereas, the Nokia Messaging ascertains to simplify the mobilization of email process. Users can now conveniently access several email accounts at the same time. This facility is made possible by reducing the complexity of the set-up process and eliminating steps that are difficult to comprehend. Besides, the Push technology assures instant emails delivery directly to the mobile phone.

Nokia Messaging will now enable customers to create and manage up to ten personal email accounts pushed straight to their Nokia mobile phone including Gmail, Yahoo Mail along with Windows Live and Hotmail.

Telecom Italia and Nokia have conformed to offer Nokia Messaging service with some 30 Nokia Symbian devices which include Nokia E75, Nokia E55, Nokia N97 alongside the Nokia E71 and Nokia N95 8GB. Users merely need to enter their email address and passwords in order to get emails pushed directly onto the homescreen of their mobile phones. With ease and comfort, users will be able to read, send, forward and reply to emails, read and attach files at the same time.

The Nokia Messaging service is expected to be available from the middle of September, 2009. We hope that it turns the entire messaging process into a simpler one, and offers an immense comfort level to users worldwide.
