Nokia adds on Plazes for its Mobile Phones

You can share your whereabouts with everyone with Plazes. Nokia has headed a step ahead as it is said to have acquired Plazes. Plazes is a German set up which is still a closed beta version and Nokia has acquired it for a price that is still unknown.

Mobile phone is said to be an important networking device. Plazes has been integrated with the location broadcasting service FireEagle by Yahoo!
“This acquisition helps Nokia to accelerate its vision of bringing people and places closer together, in line with our broader services strategy,” Niklas Savander, the head of Nokia’s Internet services.

The inclusion of Plazes explains Nokia’s desire to club together the social networking with location intelligence. Plazes links to services like Twitter, such services help you to keep track of your friends and family by offering instant-messaging tools for Web and mobile phone users. We can expect to see Plazes on Nokia handsets in future.
