Nokia 6550,AT&TSymbian fans in the US get yet another option. A previously T –mobile exclusive handset, the Nokia 6550 smartphone is all set to reach North America via AT&T in the coming days. Considering the pace at which mobile technology is advancing we aren’t really surprised that the S60 3.2 (Feature Pack 2) powered device replaces the earlier N75 model.

The chic device, Nokia 6550 has finally been retooled for the North American 3G spectrum. The smartphone has already made its debut in the European market. AT&T is really quick in realizing the popularity of Symbian phones in the American market.

Adorning brushed metal, the phone boast of 2.2-inch QVGA screen, 2 megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth, BP-4L 1500 mAh battery and a microSD memory card slot. The handset comes preloaded with powerful apps and games like AT&T Navigator, Instant Messaging software (AIM, Live and Yahoo), Push To Talk, MobiTV, XM Radio, Music ID, Yellowpages, The Weather Channel, Mobile Banking, Tetris, Diner Dash 2 and 3D Midnight Pool.

Featuring a 3G radio with efficient 3G frequencies for the US audience, the sexy clamshell device should be available in either red or silver.

The release of the Nokia 6550 should mark an eminent pathway in Nokia’s ever increasing efforts to make its presence in the North American market felt.

With not much details out yet, the price and availability of the Nokia 6550 are unknown.
