The Nexus 10 release date details are finally out, along with those of the two other highly anticipated Google-branded devices, namely the Nexus 4 and the beefed up Nexus 7. This fresh tablet could definitely bring some healthy competition for existing players, including Apple’s iPad.
It features a 10-inch WQXGA screen that renders visuals in 2560 x 1600p with a pixel density of 300ppi, just like we mentioned in our earlier report. And in contrast, the 9.7-inch display of Apple’s device proffers a resolution of 2048 x 1536p and a pixel density of 264ppi. Furthermore, the tablet measures just about 8.9mm in thickness against the 9.4mm-thick latter and tips the scales at 653 grams, which is yet again less in comparison to the iPad’s weight.
Other key highlights of the Nexus 10 include the Android 4.2 versions of the Jelly Bean OS and its 1.5GHz A15 dual core processor that teams up with 2GB of RAM for multitasking. The tablet comes with dual cameras – a 5MP main snapper and a 1.9MP secondary camera. It doesn’t have a microSD card slot for memory expansion, and for now, it has only been revealed to have a Wi-Fi version.
The Nexus 10 will have its price set at $399 for the 16GB version and $499 for the 32GB variant. Both models will be dished out in the US, the UK, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Spain and Japan on November 13. Buyers will be able to pick them up through the Google Play Store.
