New YouTube for iPhone application rolled out

Staying true to its promise, Google has come up with a fresh YouTube for iPhone application since Apple has dropped off the video streaming service from its upcoming platform, iOS 6. The iPhone 5 launch could be a prime reason for releasing the app a day prior to the phone’s release.

This new application is said to provide access to a host of official music videos. On swiping a finger to the left side of the screen, a guide will show up for quick access to subscribed channels. The new release is quite similar to the one developed for the Android platform.

“For all you diehard YouTube fans out there who can’t get enough YouTube on your mobile, we’ve got some great news: starting today, you can download the official YouTube app for iPhone and iPod touch from the App Store, bringing you more of the videos you love and more ways to share them with the people you care about. The new app is built by YouTube engineers, to give our iPhone and iPod touch users the best mobile experience,” commented Andrey Doronichev, head of YouTube mobile via a post on the official YouTube blog.

The company claims to deliver faster video search with fresh tools that provide suggestions and lend a hand in filtering clips and channels. Plus, users will be able to flip through related content, comments and information during playback. They can share links directly on Google+, Facebook Twitter or via other email accounts.

YouTube for iPhone can be downloaded via the App Store. According to the company, an iPad version is in the works.
