New Nexus 7 now leaked in the form of press shots

There seems to be no end to the leaks that have plagued the almost-confirmed new Nexus 7 revamp which is expected to be announced by Google on July 24. This time around, we have the official press shots that have been outed by infamous Twitter account, EVleaks. A number of fresh changes which have made their way into the tablet have been brought to the fore by these leaked images.

For one, the slate seems to be sporting a rear camera; a feature which its predecessor had chosen to skip employing. This is in line with a recent leak that had also showcased the presence of a rear snapper on the tablet. The dotted pattern which graces the current version of the device has been traded for a smooth surface it seems, while dual speaker grills at the top and bottom of the back have also been granted to it.

A press image of the side profile shows a slim design approach. Past reports have suggested that the new Nexus 7 will be grabbing hold of a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel 7-inch display, rather than the 720p panel of its precursor. And then there’s also a rumor suggesting the that the rear camera will come with a 5MP sensor. A Qualcomm APQ8064 motherboard is said to have made its way into the tablet, meaning a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor will indeed form part of it.
