Apple developer website intruded into by hackers

Apple is currently facing a crisis, for its developer website has been hit by a hack that seems to have compromised a whole lot of information. After initially being down for quite a long time, the website finally started displaying a message from Apple which informed readers what exactly was wrong with its operations. And in order to avoid such a breach again, the company revealed that it will be overhauling its systems soon.

Reportedly, the Member Center on the website was rendered inaccessible for quite a long time. And at first, it was believed that this was a case of regular maintenance, but soon, rumors began to erupt about a possible hack that could have hit the site. Finally, Apple took to the same website to confirm the news about this security breach.

Apple Hack

In a message that’s still being displayed on the Apple developers portal, it has been disclosed that the hack occurred last Thursday, and that it attempted to grab hold of personal information of registered developers. However, all sensitive data has been revealed to have been encrypted, and hence, it wasn’t compromised in any way.

But the Cupertino-based giant has not guaranteed that basic details of developers like their names, mailing addresses and/or email addresses are safe. It said that the site was taken down immediately after it got to know about the hack, and so as to avoid such a thing in the future, the company will be refurbishing its developer systems, updating its server software and rebuilding its entire database.

As of now, there’s no news as to when the Apple developers website will go back online again.
