New Mac Pro to start selling in India from tomorrow onwards, starts at Rs 2,29,900

Apple announced today that the new edition of the Mac Pro is slated to go up for sale tomorrow in India and will be available to order through all authorized retail channels in the country. The desktop will be available in different variants, but basically makes the most of Intel processors, relatively fast ECC memory and dual-workstation class GPUs amongst other things. Apart from India, it will be available in a number of other regions as well.

Packed in an aluminum enclosure with a height of 9.9 inches, its volume is merely one-eight the volume of its immediate predecessor. Inside the gadget resides a 4-core, 6-core, 8-core or 12-core Intel Xenon processor featuring Turbo Boost that help them clock in a maximum speed of up to 3.9GHz. And there are AMD GPU and it employs PCIe-based flash storage which claims to be as much as 10 times faster than regular desktop hard drives.

ECC DDR3 RAM deployed within the machine makes it capable of editing 4K videos, even while rendering effects in the background. 6 Thunderbolt 2 ports allow you to expand the desktop by supporting as many as 36 peripherals, even the UHD displays with 4K resolution.

Apple had announced the prices of the gadget back in October, when it was released along with some other devices. The Mac pro with 3.7GHz Intel Xeon E5 quad core CPU and capable of clocking in up to 3.9GHz using turbo Boost, dual AMD FirePro D3000 GPU with 2GB of VRAM, 256GB of flash storage and 12GB RAM will set you back by Rs 2,29,900. The device featuring 6-core 3.5GHz Intel Xeon E5 processor, 16GB RAM, 256GB storage, AMD FirePro D500 GPU with 3GB VRAM will cost Rs 2,99,900.
