Singapore-based Mobile and Wireless Group has made its presence in India with the launch of two mobile phones, namely MWg Atom V and MWg Zinc II. Both the handsets are Windows Mobile based. While the MWg Atom V is a touchscreen device, the MWg Zinc II works on a sliding keyboard.

Atom V comes pre-installed with GPS functionality, integrated SiRF Star-III GPS chipset, high speed 3.5G HSDPA and onboard Wi-Fi to stay connected. It features a 2.8-inch LCD screen, a scroll wheel and four buttons, an Intel processor running Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Professional at a speed of 520 MHz. Users can operate the phone for upto 3.5 hours talk time, or 150 hours standby time.

Furthermore, it also packs a 2.0 megapixel camera with auto focus, FM radio with RDS (Radio Data System). The phone is said to have a slim profile of 14.95mm and shines in a midnight blue hue.

The slider MWg Zinc II rolls out QWERTY keyboard for easy access to e-mail, texting and internet browsing, a finger driven intuitive navigation without use of stylus and GPS capability. It is also powered by a 500 MHz processor and features a bright 2.8″ TFT QVGA LCD touchscreen.

MWg offers both Atom V and Zinc II users an easy-to-use touch-driven interface called “Quick Menu”. Each device has its own version of Quick Menu, which allows users to tap large graphic icons with their fingertips as well as flip between menus by dragging their finger across the screen. Quick Menu makes it easy to navigate the device without a stylus. Additionally, users have the flexibility of customizing the icons and menus to their own needs.

All MWg handsets are expected to be available in the country via TouchIndia Telemarketing Pvt. Ltd. The Zinc II costs Rs 34,888, whereas the MWg Atom V is priced at Rs 27,888.
