MTS introduces international roaming in collaboration with 433 GSM networks in India

MTS Logo MTS has launched international roaming services for its prepaid subscribers in India across 433 GSM networks in 231 countries. Besides, it also released a dual mode SIM card which is capable of working on GSM handsets abroad and OMH CDMA devices in India.

MTS claims to be the first telecom operator in India offering international data roaming to CDMA prepaid customers. Customers on international roaming can now access GPRS services in 206 countries on 322 telecom networks. They will also be allowed to experience HSDPA services in 114 countries on 145 roaming networks.

Leonid Musatov, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, MTS India, commented, “We at MTS are always looking at innovation in our products and services to enhance customer experience. With a view to enhance connectivity and convenience, we have now introduced international roaming services for our customers. This would enable our customers to stay connected while traveling abroad without changing their phone numbers and also enjoy seamless data connectivity on the go, internationally”.

For using this service, customers will have to visit any MTS Branded Retail Outlet (BRO) and submit the required documents including a copy of their passport. After submitting a request for activation of the service on their mobile numbers, customers can get the SIM card swapped to the International Roaming card.

Users can also download the international roaming service request form from the MTS India website mtsindia.in and submit it with documents at the nearest MTS BRO. After the initial activation on subsequent international visits, users only need to dial MTS customer care to activate or deactivate international roaming on their MTS mobile numbers.
