The Motrr Galileo pan-tilt accessory seen on Kickstarter some time ago, is now up for pre-order via the official site. Essentially, this iOS-compatible peripheral can be remotely controlled for monitoring purposes after it is paired with the Apple iPad, when the user in question cannot be at the required place.

The iOS gear has been specifically designed keeping in mind scenarios like video conferencing, watching over a loved one, social networking and several areas of photography. To get started, the Apple smartphone needs to be docked onto the Motrr Galileo, and placed in scenarios like a party or a conference. The person on the other end can remotely operate the docked device by controlling its orientation to get a fair idea of what’s happening on the other side, through the synced iPad.

“We want to extend our gratitude to all of the Kickstarter backers who have supported our Galileo project. Motrr’s mission is to add a whole new dimension of control and motion to a variety of photography devices. Galileo is just the first of several exciting products we plan to bring to market in the near future. Our team is deeply passionate about robotics, photography, and cinematography. Ultimately, we are focused on creating products that inspire creativity and allow for more rewarding human interactions,” cited Motrr CEO Rob Born.

The add-on is said to be capable of rotating by 360° at speeds of 200° per second, giving a wide viewing angle to the recipient. It’s just like a camera breaking the barriers of distance with the help of two iOS devices in hand. Besides, it features a software developer kit for melding it with other apps on the respective gadget. What’s more, the gear contains a tripod screw for mounting it at any given place, while the peripheral even serves as a charger for the corresponding handset or iPod touch.

The final Motrr Galileo price is marked at $129.95 and it can now be pre-ordered via the official site at a discounted rate of $117. The project initially reached its goal of $100,000 pretty quickly and the add-on will be shipped to the concerned Kickstarter backers.
