Twitter now boasts of expanded tweets

Twitter Mobile 01

The mobile version of Twitter now shows off improved expanded tweets with active links to videos, content previews and more. Basically, this new update allow users to get a one-view access to the headline, bylines or other relevant data, without the need to scroll through an entire article.

Apart from Instagram photos and YouTube videos, users will be able to peruse content from partner websites by clicking on the corresponding links. Tweets will contain active links to partner news sources like Breaking News, TIME and The Wall Street Journal. Once the appropriate links are clicked, the preview of a particular post along with the headline and introduction to the article can be viewed. In some cases, the links to the Twitter profiles of the respective author and editor are displayed as well.

“Starting today, you can discover more interactive experiences inside any Tweet on twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com. When you expand Tweets containing links to partner websites, you can now see content previews, view images, play videos and more,” states a post on the official Twitter blog.

As a Twitter follower, it could mean that a single tweet brings forth a plethora of information in the form of links to previews, images and videos. Accordingly, readers can follow the Twitter accounts of publishers, reply to or ‘favorite’ the concerned tweet and even retweet as per their wishes.

Kicking off the day with breaking news flashing right on the phone is what the experience should be like. Exclusive images seen on sites like wwe.com, BuzzFeed and TMZ can be viewed as well. Besides, desired clips from television shows like BET’s 106 & Park or others should be accessible. Users can watch videos from partner sites like Dailymotion or Lifetime too.

This refreshed Twitter version bringing in content from all over the web via expanded tweets, is accessible via mobile.twitter.com. The feature is expected to be made available to Twitter for Android and iPhone soon.
