Mobile enthusiasts can turn their favorite hangout into a 3G hotspot with this phone since it can connect up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices over one hotspot. Coming with the latest version of Motoblur, it enables users to manage all their messages, e-mails and social updates in just one place. Other features include a versatile battery manager, resizable widgets, filtering and added corporate security.

“Milestone 2 offers more power, more speed, with an improved keyboard, so users can send, access and share information even quicker than before to manage their work and personal life,” cited Alain Mutricy, senior vice president, portfolio and device product management, Motorola Mobility. “This introduction not only reaffirms our commitment to innovate on Android but offers consumers the leading edge features they crave including fast web browsing, messaging, application downloads and multimedia.”

Improving on the Milestone, Motorola has added 720p HD video capture and playback ability. What’s more, users can share multimedia content stored on the handset with DLNA compatible devices. Connected music players ought to keep audiophiles happily grooving to their favorite music ,while socializing enthusiasts might enjoy staying connected with the help of the incorporated social applications. Memory capacity may never be an issue for some with this phone that offers 8GB on-board memory, expandable memory of 32GB and apart from the supplied 8GB microSD card.

The phone is loaded with a slew of Google apps like Google Maps with Latitude and Street View, Google Search, Gmail, Google Talk and YouTube along with unified Google and Exchange Contacts. It is packaged with a wired headset apart from the aforesaid microSD card and the chassis is outfitted with a 3.5mm jack. Additionally, users can download the Motorola Media Link software which makes transferring files from the PC to the phone easier for free. This phone which supports Enterprise Exchange also delivers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. The phone is extended with optional accessories like the multimedia station for docking the Milestone or its latest successor and using it in desktop mode. The last-mentioned can be personalized to display apps, alarm clock and multimedia files including images. The Milestone 2 can also be powered up via the rapid in car charger that can be plugged into the car cradle. Proffering easy navigation with GPS and E-Compass Latitude, this handset also renders e-mail support through Corporate Sync, IMAP/POP3, Gmail, Yahoo Mail and push mail.

The Motorola Milestone 2 will hit European shores early in the fourth quarter of 2010. There’s no clear word on the pricing details as yet.
