Motorola Milestone 2

Motorola’s Milestone 2 created quite a stir in mobile world when it launched back in September. 720p HD video support, Android 2.2 and Motoblur among the slew of other interesting features obviously had enthusiasts sitting up and taking notice. This enhanced version of the popular Milestone hasn’t yet been picked up by any major carriers in the UK though. Users in the country can nevertheless brace themselves to acquire the phone this week as SIM-free via retailers.

Most retailers in the UK are seen putting up this 3.7” Android beauty available this week. Expansys in particular has revealed the phone as free on contract and for £379.99 when purchased SIM-free. A car kit bundle for free is also part of the deal. Those looking for a more affordable option can anticipate grabbing the handset with a subsidized SIM. It offers the Milestone 2 for free on a 24 month £30 tariff through Vodafone.

While some may see this deal and the many others offered by retailers selling this phone a tad bit too expensive, it looks like one of the only ways to lay hands on the handset. It does also seem to throw up a very important question as to why carriers are refraining from directly selling the phone.

Well, only time will tell and users in the UK who’ve waited long enough for this Milestone sibling will have to make do with these offers as of now.
