Motorola graces the market with Android-powered Defy smartphone

Motorola Defy We last caught a sight of Motorola when they revealed that Milestone 2 will hit European markets in the fourth quarter of 2010. The company rolled out Defy which is a new Android-powered smartphone on the farewell season premiere of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’. The compact solution adorns a 3.7-inch high-resolution and scratch-resistant touchscreen display that puts forth complete viewing experience for popular websites, photos and videos.

The phone augments safety as it is scratch and water resistant as well as dust proof. This will surely restrict unnecessary damage like unexpected rain or drop in the sand. Integrated CrystalTalk Plus overcomes noisy environments with two effective microphones which flawlessly filter out background noise and enhances voice levels.

“DEFY is designed to handle everything that life throws your way,” commented Bill Ogle chief marketing officer, Motorola Mobility. “With all the features consumers expect in a smartphone, Defy packs Web browsing, entertainment and messaging capabilities as well as an exterior design that can withstand the stresses of everyday life.”

Adobe Flash Lite-enabled web browser and 3.7-inch WVGA screen permits users to view more of the web as compared to standard browsers. Owners can immerse themselves with several apps, widgets and games from the Android Market. Users can also access services like Google Search, Google Maps and Gmail.

Users can capture crisp images with the 5MP camera which features a flash, digital zoom and auto focus. The handset enables owners to stream, store and share content with compatible devices like HDTVs, game consoles and PCs. The music player flaunts the option to display lyrics and helps users search, buy and download music directly from the handset.

The new handset is anticipated to be available through T-Mobile USA soon.
