Motorola DVX will retail for around $250, have 4.5-inch display

The Moto X smartphone which is wholly made and assembled in the US is quite a success, but it isn’t within the reach of everyone. Motorola had previously promised that it would deliver a cheaper version of the smartphone in the future and that device is most likely to be the DVX.

The handset has been rumored time and again, but this time, we’ve got a good deal of information on the upcoming phone. Based on the details provided by Weibo, a post on G 4 Games highlights that the device will retail for around 1,200 to 1,500 yuan or between $200 and $250 in the US after conversion. The website goes on to say that the source has been reliable in the past with rumors on the Moto X.

What you can expect from the DVX is that it will look a lot like the Moto X, but with a cheaper form factor. The report suggests that the phone will have a 4.5-inch display instead of 4.7-inch and it might not be a Super AMOLED panel. Also, the bezel size surrounding the screen isn’t going to be as narrow as seen on the current flagship.

On the bright side, the device will feature a removable back panel which will be available in various shades. The Motorola X8 processor will be onboard as well, offering Touchless Control, but its clock speed might be reduced.

Like always, we’d suggest that you take the aforementioned details with a pinch of salt as none of the information has been confirmed as yet. While we’ve got a possible price of between $200 and $250, there’s still no sign of a launch date.
