HP teams up with Google to introduce Chromebook 11

The recently launched 14-inch Chrome powered laptop from HP has received a smaller sibling which goes by the name Chromebook 11. The latest addition to the Google notebook series takes a few design cues from the Pixel and it also features a highly portable form factor.

According to Google, the Chromebook 11 has been designed for everyone. It’s speedy, intuitive to use and secure. The display employed here is one of the main attractions. Measuring 11.6 inches wide, the IPS screen delivers visuals in 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and it has 300nits of brightness as well as wide viewing angles of 176 degrees. The notebook is designed with a durable form factor that sports a magnesium frame.

The Chromebook 11 is just around 1Kg in weight and it measures 17.6mm. The laptop has a fanless design which is made possible owing to the inclusion of an ARM based Exynos 5250 processor from Samsung. The device doesn’t offer much in memory, but 2GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD is acceptable.

The laptop can deliver 6 hours of battery, while charging is done by a standard microUSB cable which is used for most smartphones. Other features bundled with the device include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, USB 2.0 ports and a SlimPort for video output. The Chromebook 11 is currently available for purchase in the US and the UK. The laptop is retailing for $279 and it can be picked up through Best Buy, Amazon, Google Play, HP Shopping, Currys, PC World and other retailers in both countries.
