Motorola Droid X lands on to Best Buy stores for pre-sale

Motorola Droid XThis seems to be the right time to be the first to grab the Motorola Droid X smartphone. The Android 2.1 powered handset is now available on Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile for pre-sale.

The device flaunts a 4.3” high-resolution, wide screen display and an 8MP built-in camera. The camera is equipped with a dual flash and allows shooting HD videos in 720p resolution. The phone integrates the Adobe Flash player 10.1 and runs with a 1GHz processor.

“With the buzz we’ve seen around the Android platform, Best Buy is confident that consumers will be thrilled about the Verizon DROID X by Motorola pre-sale. It has been a great summer for smartphones with the HTC EVO and iPhone 4 launches, and the addition of the DROID X adds another strong option for our customers to consider,” cited Scott Anderson, senior director of merchandising at, Best Buy Mobile.

Apart from letting users access web and e-mails, the handset lets users access a host of games and apps through Google and the Android Market. The phone supports 3G mobile hotspot that converts it into a modem for five Wi-Fi devices.

The Droid X can be purchased through Best Buy with two year activation for $199.99. It is expected to hit markets through Verizon wireless from July 15 this year.
