The Motorola Defy XT and Defy Mini rugged Android smartphones have dropped into India. Both are touted to be water-, dust- and scratch- proof, making room for some on-the-go roughhousing.
The Defy XT is equipped with a 3.7-inch FWVGA capacitive touchscreen that is reinforced by Corning Gorilla Glass for added durability. It gets its juice from a 1650mAh battery that is expected to offer a talk time of 9.5 hours. Besides, a 5MP snapper sits on the rear and there’s a front-facing VGA sensor for video-conferencing. Running on a 1GHz processor, it is integrated with 512MB RAM and a 2GB microSD card.

The Defy Mini sports a 3.2-inch HVGA touch display and a rear 3MP snapper. This dual SIM phone entails a front-facing VGA imager just like the aforementioned device. Its battery is claimed to provide approximately 9 hours of talk time. The handset arrives built-in with a 2GB microSD card and expandable memory up to 32GB.
Both the Defy members offer the MotoSwitch 2.0 user interface for managing all regularly accessed utilities including calls and playlists. Notably, the Motorola handsets in question function on the Gingerbread platform. In terms of connectivity, Bluetooth, DLNA and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n options are available for the 2 phones.
The Motorola Defy XT price in India is marked at Rs. 16,190 and it is up for grabs across select stores starting from today. The Defy Mini can be picked up for Rs. 11,490 and it will ship from June 20 onwards.
