It was just last week that Motorola declared the upcoming launch of the Dext, Backflip and Quench phones across Canada through three national carriers. According to Intomobile, Rogers could be the carrier for Motorola’s Cliq XT or alternately, Quench handset, when it hits North America.

Cliq XT comes with Motoblur which is a UI that integrates the user’s e-mails, text messages, updates from social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace onto a single widget on the homescreen for convenient user access. It runs the Android 1.5 mobile OS and lends full HTML browsing support including the Android webkit with Adobe Flash Lite.

The phone sports a 3.1” HVGA touchscreen display and a virtual Swype keyboard. Other features encompass an embedded 5MP camera with flash and digital zoom, media player, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g as also 3G connectivity, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack and much more. With the Backflip and Dext expected to hit Telus and Bell, respectively, speculations about the Cliq XT coming to North America via Rogers have been running wild.

Unfortunately, neither Motorola nor Rogers has given the official nod on this tidbit as yet.
