Ever wanted fonts in mobile phones? Well here’s a way! Monotype Imaging Holdings has declared that its FlipFont mobile font download app is all set to come in an array of Samsung handsets that are expected to arrive this year.
Samsung’s Galaxy S, released last month at CTIA Wireless 2010, is claimed to be the first mobile device to be equipped with FlipFont as a built-in app. It offers users with the facility to improve their mobile experience by experimenting with different types of fonts. Moreover, the phone turns out to be the first FlipFont-supported device based on the Google Android mobile platform.

Monotype Imaging’s FlipFont app offers the capability to preview, choose, license and download type from an online collection of mobile-optimized fonts from Monotype Imaging’s famous Monotype, Linotype and ITC typeface compilations. Users can activate downloaded fonts for use on compatible phones, facilitating the display of menus and diverse applications in the selected font.
Users of attuned Android-powered mobile devices from Samsung can have direct access to an assortment of mobile-optimized fonts via Google’s Android Marketplace.
