Mirror Cam 1.0 makes the most of iPhone 4’s front facing camera

Mirror Cam iPhone 4Over the years, we’ve seen Apple having reservations against a host of applications from those that employed the hardware of its iPhone devices to those that appeared to imitate functionalities it already offers. Intelligenti’s brand new application dubbed as Mirror Cam 1.0 taking advantage of the iPhone 4’s front facing camera is the latest to get a nod from Apple.

Users can now have a look of themselves while surrounded by a range of frames. Among the many, they can imitate Spaceman in an antique frame, a fighter pilot, a medieval knight or just a random celebrity complete with a backstage makeup mirror. A simple swipe either left or right from frame to frame followed by a tap on the screen will enable users to save the picture.

The simple to use application is tailored to benefit from the iPhone 4’s Retina Display. Allowing every frame to be displayed in a fluid manner, users no longer have to stare at a blank, black screen. With the front facing camera, users gain a live view of themselves. Bundled with 9 frames, the company plans to release more updates in the future.

Compatible with the iPhone 4, the application needs about 8.1MB of memory and requires iOS 4.0. The Mirror Cam 1.0 is available as a free download via the App Store in the Utilities category.
