Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Mini heading for May 20 mystery announcement

Microsoft is attempting to pull an Apple with its Surface Pro 3 and Mini announcements which are expected at the company’s mystery May 20 event. A mainly blue image was tweeted by Microsoft along with the words ‘Where will you be May 20th? How about tuning in to our #Surface NYC event Livestream?’ and showing the Statue of Liberty.

We will be seeing a new Microsoft Surface tablet on May 20; that much can be guessed by the heavy hinting. But word on the street is that Microsoft is planning to launch a Surface Pro 3 as well as a Surface Mini at the press conference next week. And its new CEO, Satya Nadella, may be the one to introduce this iPad mini substitute for lovers of Windows.

Microsoft Surface Pro 2

Based on a few reports from across the web, ZDNet says that the mini Surface could be a device based on the ARM processor architecture. It is anticipated to arrive as a 7- to 8-inch slab of Windows 8.1, accompanied by a stylus. The tablet is also rumored to hit the markets in the latter half of June along with protective cases which can be converted into kickstands.

But Microsoft won’t be depending only on ARM-based designs for its upcoming exhibits, according to speculations. Intel processors which may power either the Surface Pro 3 or Surface Mini, are supposedly going to debut at the company’s launch in New York City.

Microsoft Surface Event Invite
