The Micromax Canvas HD price may not be finalized as yet, but the manufacturer has let us in on an estimated retail value. Also, users will have to wait till next month before they see the smartphone displayed on any of the online shopping outlets.
A bumped up version of the well known A110, the Canvas HD stands on a higher pedestal with relatively better specifications. Even though each carries a 5-inch IPS touchscreen display, the upcoming phablet will hold the capability of reproducing visuals at a resolution of 1,920 x 720 pixels.
It will pack the earlier version of the Android Jelly Bean OS that can be considered as an agreeable development from the A110’s ICS platform (as seen below). Micromax has joined forces with MediaTek to proffer a 1.2GHz quad core processor that is based on the Cortex A7 architecture, which may benefit the OEM in this age of booming competition.
Users can also look forward to clicking pictures and recording videos using an 8MP camera that features auto focus, an LED flash and 4x digital zoom. The company discloses details regarding the main snapper only, but considering that the device’s predecessor shows off a VGA front-facing lens, the chances of a secondary webcam existing on the phone in question seem quite high.
As of now, we know that the external memory slot allows expansion of up to 32GB, that an integrated 2,100mAh battery will be in charge of keeping the phone up and about and that the handset will support 3G. But internal storage capacity, speculated talk time and standby as well as other connectivity features remain to be seen.
The Micromax Canvas HD will also go by the name A116 and will be marked with a price tag of not more than Rs. 15,000. It is anticipated to strike various online and retail outlets around the country by the first week of February.
