Bharti Airtel brings in the new Airtel World SIM for international travelers. This announcement comes just in time for the travel season. With this new SIM, outbound travelers can retain their local number as the calls made will be forwarded on the World SIM.
Well, the company says that, users would have to pay just a fraction of amount of international roaming which will eventually lead to saving about 85 percent on international calls. Furthermore, users can get their hands on a single mobile number which will be valid across 190 countries. Thus, it puts an end to the hassle of carrying multiple SIM cards for different countries.
Announcing the launch of the service, Shireesh Joshi, Director-Marketing, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel said, “The Airtel World SIM has been created following in-depth research and customer feedback. Over 10 million Indians travel abroad annually and they are looking for a calling product that provides them flexibility and convenience at competitive prices. The Airtel World SIM allows travellers to retain access to incoming calls on their India number, their local-SIM contacts and seamless connectivity in 190 countries. All this at tariffs that are a fraction of international roaming rates, offering savings upto 85%.”
The Worl SIM users can also recharge online from anywhere in the world. This Airtel offering will first be made available in Delhi, followed by the rest of the country.
