LogMeIn Ignition application announced for BlackBerry Storm smartphone

LogMeIn Ignition Application

Make your BlackBerry smartphone an extension of a computer. The latest application included in the BlackBerry App World is LogMeIn Ignition from LogMeIn. This app enables a BlackBerry Storm smartphone user to access and control a computer remotely.

With this innovative application, users can access files and programs from their Internet-enabled Windows and Mac-based computers virtually from anywhere and access it as if they were actually sitting in front of it. The Blackberry Storm users will also be able to access Windows computers that run LogMeIn Pro, LogMeIn IT Reach or LogMeIn Free as well as Mac OS X computers running LogMeIn Free.

LogMeIn Ignition promises to securely store the passwords and provides one click access to remote computers. It also eliminates the need of remembering multiple passwords or access codes without compromising on security. This application uses the 256-bit SSL encryption which ensures that data traffic is protected. The ‘My Computers’ List feature will allow users to view all the connected computers including their online/offline status in their LogMeIn account.

Additionally, the application takes complete advantage of Storm’s touchscreen functionality which enables a user to zoom, scroll and select items on the remote desktop. For easy and accurate typing a full on-screen keyboard can be activated in addition to special keyboards which includes function keys like tab, ESC and navigation arrows.

It is very easy to set-up this application as it does not requires any firewall updates, no router configuration, no ports to be opened and also no requirement of static IP addresses.

At Present, the LogMeIn Ignition is in alpha stage but there is no information about its beta release date. The pricing details of this application are also not known.
