Line Rider,iPhoneUsers of the iPhone and iPOd touch can now gear up to ride the lines. inXile Entertainment, a leading game development company has unveiled today its iPhone version of the Line Rider. An internet phenomenon, the Liner Rider will bring its class of creative and endless gameplay to the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

Brian Fargo, chief executive officer of inXile entertainment, remarked, “We have over a million visitors to LineRider.Com every month and our strong and vocal audience has been asking for an iPhone(TM)/ iPod Touch(TM) version of Line Rider ever since the touch interface was introduced. Line Rider is a natural fit for the iPhone as mobile users will be able to share their tracks and ride the lines almost anywhere now.”

TechDawg, the Line Rider ‘fan boy’ is in talks with inXile to create some mind boggling tracks that can be downloaded from the Line Rider website. With a touch interface, the iPhone version of the game will let users playback tracks in a ‘movie’ mode as well as upload tracks to the Internet for others to download and play. Gamers can also search for tracks by track name and/or author, rate other people’s tracks and browse the list of ‘Most Recent Tracks’ as well as ‘Top Rated Tracks’.

Players can additionally sketch out tracks for a virtual sled rider, much as they did with a mouse in the original Web version of the game.

Debuted in September of 2006, Line Rider was an immediate online sensation. Millions of players worldwide were hooked on to this game.

The Line Rider for the iPhone should hit the stores later this month via iTunes for around $2.99.
