Limited MOBO edition 18-carat gold HTC One announced, valued at £2,750

Ever since Apple let out details about introducing gold iPhone 5S, companies have been announcing gold versions of their flagships and the latest to jump on to the bling bandwagon is none other than the HTC One. We are not saying that they are trying to copy Apple or anything, but we must admit that the announcements pertaining to gold-plated devices have suddenly cropped up after the Cupertino-based conglomerate went public with its plans.

The device made of 18-carat gold has been introduced to commemorate the eighteenth anniversary of the MOBO or Music of Black Origin Awards which will be held on October 19 in Glasgow. The musician who wins in the best newcomer category will get one of the units of the gold-plated gadget.

But all those who are eyeing the stylish and classy piece of hardware will be a little disappointed to know that HTC has decided to produce only 5 units of the special edition variant. And as one of them will be given to the aforementioned winner, there’ll be only 4 others to purchase. However, we are not sure if these units will be sold or not.

‘MOBO 18’ has been etched on the rear panel of the phone and interested customers will have to shell out £2,750, if HTC ever plans to sell these out. Its internal system is likely to be exactly the same as the regular and dual SIM version of the device.

In case you are sure you will not be able to lay your hands on the gold-plated HTC One MOBO edition, then you can head over to Goldgenie and order the device in either gold, rose gold or platinum for a starting price of £1,579.71.
