LG to unleash new Windows phones

LG Logo LG has recently declared the proximate release of its three latest Windows phones in the upcoming weeks. These three innovative devices are believed to stand out as the most outstanding LG smartphones till date. In addition, these Windows phones will result in a total of 13 new LG-branded Windows phones introduced worldwide before the end of 2010.

LG’s latest additions claim to be the foremost devices which will include a new Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system with a full touchscreen, a touch slider with QWERTY bar-type handset. Moreover, it will come integrated with an easy-to-navigate interface of Windows Mobile 6.5 ensuring to deliver a more convenient and speedier smartphone experience for consumers.

The latest version of Windows Mobile will be endured by LG’s own distinctive S-Class User Interface, claiming to deliver a distinctive 3D experience that operates with Microsoft’s familiar operating system.

“This initial launch is a strong testament that LG is committed to offering a spectrum of choices for our broad range of customers,” stated Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Our work with Microsoft on mobile devices reflects our strategy of offering the best in both hardware and software in all our smartphones.”

These three new Windows phones come with an upgraded Internet Explorer Mobile browser equipped with a new engine and a customized version of Adobe Flash Lite. This feature enables users to access sites which were previously unable to render efficiently. Moreover, the Windows Mobile 6.5 offers access to Microsoft’s My Phone service. It assists users in performing automatic backups of photos, music, contracts along with text messages from their handheld to the web for easy access anytime.

“With familiar software like Microsoft Outlook, Windows Media Player and Windows Live, these phones will give people the confidence to get things done with the software they would normally expect from their PCs,” explained Todd Peters, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Corp. “LG’s portfolio of stylish Windows smartphones gives people the ability to choose the model that best suits their style and budget.”

These new Windows mobile phones will be directed at disparate segments of the market varying from expensive and superior to low-priced smartphones. The phones are expected to be released initially for early adopter users in Europe, the United States and Asia before they are made available worldwide.

Introduced in July, the LG Application Store will bring add-ons for each of these three mobile phones along with future LG smartphones. The company has not revealed any information on the price and availability of these highly-advanced Windows phones yet.
