LG is being a tease, again, this time about the G2 India launch

Old habits die hard – LG has started to tease the impending launch of its G2 smartphone in India and to do so, it has gone social via Facebook. The company has put up a coming soon banner alongside a transparent version of the handset which highlights the rear volume keys. There’s also a line accompanying it, stating that ‘the best surprises are always hidden on the back.’

The G2 smartphone and G Pad 8.3 tablet are the first smart devices from the company’s 2013 portfolio to come without the Optimus branding. LG plans on releasing the phone in the US and Germany this month itself, which means that India has made it to the initial launch list. The handset has earned flagship status and is loaded with the best hardware available. The device is powered by a quad core 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 processor that’s backed by 2GB of RAM.

The company has fitted a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display on the front and there’s a 13MP camera on the rear with OIS. 32GB of storage has been supplied along with a 3,000mAh Li-polymer battery. Other features include Android 4.2, 4G LTE, HSPA+ and 192KHz Hi-Fi audio. Also arriving this month in India is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which will launch on the 17th, while the Xperia Z1 is scheduled to arrive a day later on the 18th.

There’s no definitive launch date for the LG G2, but according to online retailer Saholic, the device should be in stock for sale by the end of the month. No price details have been provided as yet.
