The LG Optimus Pad LTE has been recently announced by the company which is making this its first venture into the LTE enabled tablet sector. The device seems prepared to reach users and will initially roll out in Korea as part of the launch schedule.

Users who were impressed with the Optimus LTE smartphone due to attributes like the True HD IPS display will not be let down by this one, believes the company. The 245- x 151.4- x 9.34-millimeter body accommodates an 8.9-inch touchscreen which displays visuals in a resolution of 1280 x 720p. The high definition feature has also been extended to its 8MP rear facing camera for shooting videos.

“With tablets generating five times more traffic than the average smartphone, it’s not a huge jump to assume that tablet users need and want faster connectivity,” commented Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications. “The combination of LG’s LTE technology with the tablet form factor is a clear advantage for consumers who use a tablet as their primary consumption device when on the move.”

Somewhere on the front bezel is a 2MP camera for video chats. The company insists that this is the first tablet to support an SD memory card of up to 32GB. Embedded with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm dual core/dual channel processor, the slab operates on the Honeycomb 3.2 OS. For fans of Android looking forward to binge on ICS, there is no word yet on that with regards to the software upgrades.

The LG Optimus Pad LTE release date and price details for Korea or other parts of the world have not been revealed by the company as yet.
