Packing in 2GB RAM coupled with LTE connectivity, the LG Optimus LTE II has been launched in Korea. It is expected to be available this week itself in retail outlets across the said country.

Talking about the phone’s highlight, the included 2GB DDR RAM enables potential users to conveniently multitask on their devices, while claiming to offer an experience similar to that seen in PCs or laptops. Its front panel is dominated by a 550-nit True HD IPS display spanning through 4.7 inches and proffering images in resolutions of 1280 x 720p. It is equipped with a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm chip that includes both the LTE modem and the Application Processor. Under the hood, there’s a beefy 2,150mAh battery, while the entire show is run by ICS.

“The Optimus LTE II is the most powerful smartphone technology currently available in Korea. With a faster LTE network, the barrier for downloading and running very large applications is no longer a significant one for many customers, which is why LG saw a need for more RAM on high-end smartphones,” commented Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG.

The LG Optimus LTE II is embedded with an 8MP snapper on the back panel and a front-facing 1.3MP sensor for video conferencing. It features 16GB internal memory that can be extended via a slot for a microSD card of 32GB capacity. In terms of connectivity, this fresh entrant shows off Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, MHL, DLNA and USB 2.0 HS. Additionally, a wireless charging system tagging along with just the handset in question, will be sold separately. There’s a lot in store on the software front in the form of Face Unlock, Quick Memo and more.

The exact LG Optimus LTE II price and release date for Korea has not been disclosed at present. It is expected to ship via 3 domestic carriers in the country by this week.
